Give Away! (Comic Book Edition)

Wow, this blog has now hit the 400 mark in terms of followers! I really appreciate everyone who has stopped by and taken a look at my ramblings. And I'd like to say thank you. In fact, I'd like to do another give away. So, since Gabriel and I will be at Heroes Con this coming weekend (you can read about that here if you'd like) I thought I'd send someone a small comics care package.

What will be in this package? Well, a Heathentown poster, for one thing, like the one pictured here (although it won't be framed):

And a copy of Spider City, the collectors edition full color 8 page comic that Gabriel and I did for the L.A. Zoo's spider exhibit. We can sign either or both for the winner. I'll also include something cool from Heroes Con, TBD this coming weekend.

Want to win? Just comment on this post with a way to reach you and your favorite thing about comics. I'll use a random number generator to choose the winner on June 15th. Thanks again, and good luck!

  1. Wow - congratulations on 400 followers! I would LOVE to win this! (I missed out on Heathentown due to my own procrastination and regret it!) My favorite thing about comics is the artwork!

My e-mail is katmish at gmail dot com.

Hope you both have a lot of fun at the con!

  3. Props on the 400th follower, Corinna! Man, favorite thing about comics....I'll have to echo the artwork! There's tons of established characters and seeing different people's take on them is a blast. The best is when you see someone you wouldn't normally associate with a particular character (say Batman or Spider-Man, for example) completly knock the art out of the park! Plus, I like pictures! :p

I can be reached on Twitter @jrsavitski ! Thanks, Corinna!

  4. I really love the way you and Gabriel keep reinfusing the mastery of Depression-era (and post, 40-50s) comic art/story-telling with a modern twist. Subversive? YES! On the top of the wave? YES, YES, YES.

  5. My favorite thing about comics is how while I read adult comics now, it's still something I do that connects me to my childhood.

I love comics mainly because of how the visuals add a different angle in the feel and tone of the story. It's such a unique medium!!

I'm still totally on to trade zines when we get a chance!! :) We can convo on Etsy...

  7. I loved how comics had a way of drawing you in. Made you feel like you were in the dark streets with the victims or racing over rooftops with the superhero.
